About Us
Please come and join us on Sunday mornings as we meet together for praise, worship, fellowship and teaching. We are a congregation of all ages and aim to offer something for everyone. Our Sunday diet ranges from traditional Anglican services to informal family friendly worship. We sing a variety of old and modern hymns, songs and choruses. Our young people take an active part in the life of our church and are always involved in our All Age Services which take place every fourth Sunday in the month. What unites us is a desire to know Christ and make Him known - which is why the bible is central to all we do.
We are committed to serving our local community and to reaching out with the good news of Jesus. We also support the mission of the church beyond our parish through our various national and international links.
As a family of believers our fellowship and friendship extends beyond our Sunday meetings. We have a busy calendar of social events at which visitors and newcomers are always welcome. Our church hall is frequently used by us for sharing food, dancing, and celebrations of every kind.
Our church building is on the site of a Roman fort. The current building dates from 1822 but the remains of the medieval church are still visible in the church yard. The Roman fort was founded c. 120AD. We don't know whether those Romans would have known about Jesus Christ (although the good news spread quickly through the Roman Empire), but our dramatic location on a windswept cliff, overlooking the Solway Firth, would have been a constant reminder to them, as it is to us, of the power and majesty of our Creator God. Irish missionaries probably visited the site in the 6th century and dedicated the church to St. Bridget.

Moresby Parks Mission Church
Moresby Parks Mission Church is a church plant of St. Bridget's Church established over 100 years ago.
Although the congregation no longer meets in the Mission Church, we share services with the congregation of St. Mark's Methodist Church at 9.30am every Sunday.
The village of Moresby Parks has seen considerable population growth over the past few years as a result of housing developments. Please pray for us as we consider how best to reach this growing community. |
